Leadership

Pastor Nate Holt and Wife Valerie

Pastor Nate was raised in a wonderful Christian home and at the age of 7, under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, through solid biblical preaching, he was convicted of his sin and received Jesus Christ as His personal Lord and Savior. In August of 1994 he married his high school sweetheart, Valerie, and in April of 1997, he was called and licensed to preach the word of God. His first pastorate was in the church he was raised in in Mesa, Colorado, where he served for four years as pastor. In 2001 he and his family planted the Cowboy Chapel of Prayer, a small country church in DeBeque, Colorado. In 2005 he accepted the call to serve as Pastor/Youth Pastor at Living Water Baptist Church in Fruita, Colorado, and he and Valerie served there for 17 years. After much prayer and a heavy heart, he took a nine-month sabbatical from ministry, and on December 11, 2022, he accepted the invitation to come and Pastor Rocky Mountain Baptist Church.

Pastor Nate has taken biblical courses though the Institute for Church Leadership, a school offered through Master’s Seminary and has completed his certificate in Biblical Theology. He has also taken several Bible courses through The Institute for Expository Preaching and Bob Jones University. Through the years, God has been good; He has been faithful, and graciously allowed, both Pastor Nate and Valerie to work with some of the best people in the world. Humbled at His goodness, grateful for His blessings, and anticipating His continued work in their lives, they count it a great honor to have served where they have and consider it a privilege to serve the Lord here at Rocky Mountain Baptist Church. They look forward to what God has in store for this body.
